As I've decided to not breed anymore for many different reasons I am offering this boy up for grabs.
Hotaru, Dark Ebony male, DOB: Jan.27th, 2010. This boy has a nice personality but he takes awhile to warm up to new people. He's from JAGs lines and his weight as of Sept.7th is 454g. He has no health issues and has good straight teeth. I would really prefer that this boy go to someone who has chinchilla experience and is willing to dedicate the time he needs to establish a good bond. He had minimal handling before I got him but he's getting alot more curious now and just needs the right person to spend some extra time getting him really friendly
--- UPDATE OCT.9th --- I've been putting as much extra time into this boy as I can and he is getting alot better. He is still cautious but friendly once he warms up to you, he's not that fond of my boyfriend. If anyone is wanting a companion for one of their boys let me know please.

Updates, I have decided to keep my little tan boy Sanyu for now but Hotaru still needs a new home. I've been giving him as much extra time as I can spare and he's getting quite friendly. Anyone know someone looking for a cute little dark ebony male?
Also I finally got my banner up with the chinchillas that I'm keeping. Hopefully the colours will match on most screens.

Thanks, I'm happy with it. In response to Tara; I would keep him but I keep my chins in pairs and I can't have two males living together in a room with my females because that's just asking for trouble and I don't want him to have to live on his own when everyone else has company.

This little boy sold today to a great home with chinchilla experience and is to be paired with a fixed female, so he'll have a companion for the rest of his life.

Yeah I'm very happy with where he went, it took awhile but this is the perfect solution for him and he's got a more submissive personality so hopefully it won't be too hard to pair him up with her. Apparently she's pretty calm and easy going but he's going to take it nice and slow regardless so I'll update when I find out how it goes.

Got an email today, he's living with a fixed grey female named Seira. He apparently got her from a breeder not knowing she was pregnant and unfortunatly she aborted and the kits had started to rot, so after quite a huge vet bill and recovery she doesn't have to worry about having anymore kits. As unfortunate as the situation was atleast it proves to me that he's a dedicated chin owner who understands the costs involved. I'm glad he was able to pair them and it really sounds like he has found a great home.

Sadly I can't control what his new owner does, I can only make suggestions and hope they are listened to which they usually aren't. Atleast it worked out and he has a forever home.

Oh I know! Believe me I know how it is! I go over things with people and they do the opposite! Drives me nuts!
