Just saw this...poor things: www.torontohumanesociety.com/sm_mammals.htmI emailed them to see if they need anything for the chins. I'm not sure what kind of care they are getting their and from what I remember, the small animals are in a noisy bright room at the THS.

let me know if I can help also. I cannot take them in, but I can make some toys and send some dust or something.

Just spoke (via email) to the woman that is in charge of the chins. Sounds like they have an okay set up for them. They are trying to litter train them. ha!
They have them on Oxbow and hay and fresh greens. I gave her my opinion about the fresh greens and gave her Kara's site. She asked for help in getting word out about them so I'll do it.
Hopefully people will adopt them, she said the interest isn't there like it used to be.

Only because people don't know who they really are. Although I have been told that this situation is affecting all walks of the pet animal kingdom.

From the look of the chins at THS it looks like a family that the male wasn't removed and thus those adorable kits are inbred. I get the THS newsletter and always look who is there.

I'm not really impressed with the THS. They are adopting all the females out without making sure NONE are pregnant. I sent them a care package with some apple and pear wood.
I also don't like that they give the chins fresh greens.

the link is only showing two chins available now. how many were there to begin with? i'm very concerned about any females adopted out, and the potential for pregnancy coupled with new owners that won't have a clue what to do.
