Hey everyone! I'm thinking about getting a chinchilla but I'm not sure where to get him or her from. Does anyone know of any breeders in edmonton? Thanks!

There are some in Alberta and I'm pretty sure there is Mel in Edmonton. Let me just check.... I'm not sure if she's still breeding but here is her site: www.hallowsevechinchillas.com/Pam on here is Alderbrook Chinchillas and she might know someone else. Chinchilla Park Place is in B.C. and she does ship chins. There are more bad breeders than good breeders so be careful and ask lots of questions, and feel free to ask us. We tend to know who is a bad breeder. Word travels fast!

Okay thanks! I emailed her but she hasnt answered back for a few days so I think she may not be breeding anymore. How do they ship the chinchillas? Would it be stressful?

They go on a plane in a special carrier. I have had 3 chins shipped to me and all 3 were perfect.

There is also the humane society. I'm from Edmonton and that's where I got Gob. But he was really flighty when we first brought him home. I'm assuming much of it was stress...now he's social. Allows us to pick him up and pet him working on brushing but he tires of the brush quickly and decides it would be more fun to chew it.
