SO TAS contacted me about taking in a chin they found as a stray that has head tilt. So until I get my vet to check her out I won't have any idea about the cause. There could be various things going on. So here is the pic they sent me:

Aww, poor baby. You already know it could be an ear infection or a brain injury and I believe listeria can also cause a tilt in some cases. She needs to be checked first for an ear infection which will be pretty easy to tell. The vet will look into her ears and if there is redness or discharge you know you have an infection. Ask the vet about listeria. Not too sure how they test for it but it could show up in the ear swab. Strict quarentine needs to be followed if it turns out to be that.

A fecal would be good too to rule out a parasite from being outside. I hope she will be okay.

My first thought was inner ear as well. I believe I've also seen a story on a chin who had a seizure that resulted in a permanent head tilt.

I could handle that. Reading about roundworm and listeria is scary! She looks alert in the pic at least.
And how a coyote did not get her is beyond me!

Aww! Poor baby I hope it's something that is easily curable. I wonder if she runs in circles?

It's sad to think some one let their pet out to live in the wild. Let's hope this wasn't the case.

OMG, she is the most friendliest chin so far. She is extremely active and is climbing the cage like a monkey. She is also eating like I have never seen a chin eat before. She is beautiful!!!!!! I rubbed her head on the drive home from the shelter. She just allowed me, closed her eyes and enjoyed it. Tanya, I think I am in trouble. I have not been a foster failure yet with chin rescue but she is so irresistible.
My mom thinks she looks more like a rabbit. Lol
I really hope she is ok! It is so sad to see her struggling with her head tilt.
